President-elect of the Gerontological Society of America Vis
[ Home ]On September 2, Michal Jazwinski, President-elect of the Society of America (GSA), Professor at the School of Medicine of Tulane University and Head of Tulane Center for Aging, and Ms. Jilan Chen, Controller and Director of International Programs at GSA visited Shandong University. Fan Liming, President of SDU, met with the visiting group.
Fan made an introduction to SDU and its medical disciplines, saying that SDU is launching researches on gerontology by integrating resources, and hoping that the Society could support and further cooperate with SDU on gerontology studies.
Jazwinski expressed his wishes to join hands with SDU in gerontology. Since gerontology is an interdisciplinary research, he hopes that both parties could cooperate in a variety of academic fields and hold seminars jointly, encouraging experts and scholars to exchange their views.
Chen Zijiang, Vice President of SDU, attended the meeting and introduced the general condition of the Cheeloo College of Medicine and foundation for collaboration of the two sides.
The Gerontological Society of America, founded in 1945, is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary association devoted to research, education, and practice in the field of aging. It has over 5,500 registered members at present.
