Delegation from UNO Visited HSNU

Jane Meza, Vice President of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), USA, led a delegation of three to visit HSNU from July 12 to 13. Xing Xiaotao, Secretary of the University Committee; and Chen Shusi, President of HSNU, met with the guests.
Chen Shusi attended the meeting and delivered a speech, noting that the both sides were ready for deeper, more concrete and detailed collaboration after they signed a memorandum of collaboration last year. According to him, HSNU is currently applying for the grants of rights of conferring master degrees, and therefore is in urgent need of enhancing its faculty’s education level and enriching their overseas study experience. He hoped both sides would deepen their cooperation, especially in the areas of selecting teachers from HSNU to UNO for doctoral degree programs and as visiting scholars, with the aim of gradually enhancing the faculy’s overall educational level and optimizing its structure, paving the way for master degree application.
During the meeting, both sides held in-depth discussions on the subjects, fees, duration and number of people concerning teachers’ skill training project and 3+1+1 program for students. Also present were officials from the Human Resources Office, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Foreign Languages, and the School of Computer and Information Engineering, etc.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Ceramics and Intangible Cultural Heritages and the School of Foreign Languages, and exchanged views.
According to reports, the University of Nebraska at Omaha (short for UNO), founded in 1908, is a well-known research-oriented public university in Nebraska. As a branch school of the University of Nebraska in Omaha – the largest city in the State, UNO is also the third largest institute of higher education in Nebraska.
